Lol, I believe the OP is referring to 95, 98, ME, 2000, XP, Vista....

Technology changes/improves. So in turn the Operating Systems are upgraded to meet the technology.

Would you drive a car built in 1990 or one built in 2007? Even if both cars were untouch. You would pick 2007....why because its faster, nicer, quieter, cd radio, and generally nicer to drive.

So with a computer that is 10 years old and can't do more than two tasks say playing itunes and surfing the web you might want a computer than can play itunes, surf, msn, watch a video all at the same time. So as time goes by they make better machines with newer and better technology.

If we never changed anything we would still be living in caves.
